Winning. Victory in Florida

Yesterday, in a huge victory for students and Floridians, a judge overturned a new state law that would have made it harder for student governments and groups like us to to register young people to vote.

Please help spread the word by sharing the good news on Facebook.

The decision was in response to a lawsuit we filed with the League of Women Voters of Florida and Rock the Vote. The judge ruled that the the law violated the U.S. Constitution and the Voting Rights Act.

The law would have created unreasonable restrictions like having to turn in voter registration forms to the county officials office withinin 48 hours which would weaken the ability for student governments, universities, and groups like us from registering tens of thousands of students to vote.

We’re eager to continue our work to increase student voter participation by helping students register and vote.
