ASHLAND, Ore. — A group at SOU says many college students are confused about the new health care laws.
The Oregon Student Interest Research Group, or “OSPIRG” set up a booth at SOU this morning. The group was offering students information on how to sign up for health insurance, and showed some of their options under the Affordable Care Act.
“Let’s face it, if you get sick or get into an accident it could be a huge problem. So students often are confused by health insurance and now with rule changes they don’t know how it affects them,” said OSPIRG Coordinator Cheryl Carlich.
Several students we spoke to today said they are still on their parents insurance plants. The Affordable Care Act says parents can keep children on their plans until they are 26-years-old.
