The images coming from Japan on TV and the web are horrifying.
They’ve been hit with a brutal triple-punch – an enormous earthquake, a tsunami, and now the looming threat of a nuclear catastrophe at the Fukushima Daiichi power station.
Over 500,000 people have been displaced from their homes and over 10,000 are still missing. Many lack shelter, heat, electricity, and water. We’ll be holding fundraisers in
the coming weeks to help provide people with these necessities.
You can also download our organizing toolkit to get started planning events of your own.
If you’re able, please also take a moment to donate now to the Red Cross’s efforts in Japan. The Red Cross operates hospitals in Japan and is deploying additional aid workers there to help with the crisis.
